Corona +ve case in Hailakandi; Number in Assam rises to 28
After Karimganj and Cachar, now COVID19 positive case makes its way to the Hailakandi district.
Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma informed through twitter that a person with a history of traveling to Saudi Arabia has tested positive.
His tweet read, “Alert ~ A person from Hailakandi district, with a travel history to Saudi Arabia, has been confirmed as #COVID19 positive. The total number of #Covid patients in #Assam now stands at 28. Update at 9.00 pm / April 7,”
As per available information, the patient: 65-year-old, Foyejul Haque Barbhuiya is a resident of Borjurai village located around 7 kilometers north of Hailakandi town. The village is near B Ed College, Bowalipaar market.
Foyejul Haque Barbhuiya recently visited Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah Hajj. The ʿUmrah is an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca (the holiest city for Muslims, located in the Hejazi region of Saudi Arabia) that can be undertaken at any time of the year, in contrast to the Ḥajj, which has specific dates according to the Islamic lunar calendar.
