He won’t return home ever again. Family members of Karimganj’s Saiful Alam Choudhury also known as Tipu will have to sink this in. A resident of the Sutarkandi area, under Kurikhala Gram Panchayat, Tipu Choudhury has succumbed to Coronavirus infection in Kuwait.

As per available information, Choudhury has been living in Kuwait for professional purposes for many years. Three years back he had last visited his home in Karimganj. A diabetes patient, Choudhury had a running nose and light fever when he rushed to the hospital on May 24. The doctors there in Kuwait collected his swab sample and found he happened to be a COVID positive patient.

Though initially, he responded to treatment, gradually his condition deteriorated and he was shifted to the intensive care unit and kept on ventilation. After staying on life support for more than 20 days he gave up yesterday.

The family sources informed that his body is now at Al Adhan hospital in Kuwait and his last rites will be performed by the administration there under the supervision of the Indian Embassy.
