Another sleepless night for State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma. He was seen busy on Saturday late night at around 2:00 a.m. to supervise the evacuation process one covid affected patient to the MMCH in adverse weather condition.

Considering the gravity of the situation honorable minister Himanta Bishwa Sharma appealed to the general public of Assam, ” In view of the developing situation, I urge elderly (65+) & children below 10 to strictly stay inside, unless very important.”

On May 16 NIGHT, 4 more COVID19 cases were detected, 2 from Guwahati, 1 each from Sonitpur & Sivasagar, taking total cases to 95. Active cases are 50.

Meanwhile, in Guwahati where two cases were detected, very late on Saturday (around 2 am). Mr. Himanta Bishwa Sharma went to Kalapahar Quarantine Centre to ensure smooth evacuation of a COVID positive patient. The other person was evacuated from Fatashil Ambari. Both have been admitted to MMCH.

The Sonitpur patient is at Tezpur Medical College & Hospital, the Sivasagar patient is at Jorhat.

Minister clarified that, total cases of COVID-19 positive in Assam is 95, already recovered 41, Active cases 50, Deaths 2, Migrated 2.
