Despite being occupied with business, Striker Ringson Hmar is still crazy about Football
Ringson Hmar is not just a popular name in the Silchar footballing circuit, but in the entire Barak Valley as well. During his stint, the Mizo striker bossed around in the local club level playing for different big clubs. But the peak of his career happened during his time wearing the PHERC jersey. He also represented another big club of the city, the India Club.
Ringson Hmar has ruled the Silchar football for a long time. He was a proven goal machine in the local footballing circuit. Unbelievable football skills added with cold-blooded finishing skills were his USP. He had the ability to tear through any defence during his day. The defenders used to lose sleep at nights thinking of how to stop this striker. Such was Ringson’s influence. In local football, Ringson played a huge role in PHE RC’s continued dominance and good form. He has a brilliant record for the Assam club PHE RC. His partnership on the field with Kazaigak Rongmei was a treat to watch. In the inter-club transfer of the District Sports Association, Ringson was the biggest attraction. Not just the district team, he even represented the U-17 and U-19 State teams as well. He has represented the under-17 team three times and the under-19 team twice. He has also been called up for the senior state team trials more than once.
Ringson is a superstar in the footballing world of the Barak valley. There was a time when spectators would come to the field just to watch his game. Due to his quiet nature, Ringson used to be a favourite among the local club officials as well. Now due to his age, his reflexes have diminished a lot, but the craving for football has remained the same for him. Not a single football match in Silchar could be organised last year due to Corona. The fear of Covid-19 is again looming at large. As a result, the DSA has already postponed the inter-club transfer window. In the next two weeks, Silchar’s football scene will depend on where the Corona situation turns in the state.
Ringson was last seen in action at Silchar in December last year. He played for the Lakhipur in a five-a-side football competition. However, except for this tournament, Ringson has not played much football in the last two years. Last season, there was no football match due to the Corona pandemic. Ringson is currently at his home in Markulin, Lakhipur. He is running his own business there who once used to be a fearsome striker. However, he is still a footballer in his heart. And that is Ringson’s biggest identity. If given the opportunity, he’s still willing to play in the Silchar Super Division.
