Director of Higher Education places Principal of Cachar College Siddhartha Sankar Nath "under suspension"

Big breaking news is coming in from the office of the Director of Higher Education, Government of Assam. The controversial Principal of Cachar College, Dr. Siddhartha Sankar Nath has been suspended. This comes after a set of allegations against him that the members of the College Teachers Association put forward.

The Principal also had a confrontation with the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar Rohan Kumar Jha. The DC had to lodge an FIR against the Principal for his gross negligence in conducting the recruitment examination.

“Pending drawal of Departmental Proceeding, Dr. Siddhartha Sankar Nath, Principal of Cachar College, P.O.Silchar, Dist. Cachar, is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect,” states the letter issued by the DHE, Assam, DK Mili.

“During the suspension period, Dr. Siddhartha Sankar Nath will get subsistence allowance as per Rule. He will not move out of headquarter without the approval of the competent authority,” the letter adds.

It is worth mentioning here that the Principal had appointed his cousin who hails from Tripura and had also bestowed some powers to the appointed relative by going above and beyond the constitutional realms. Those powers included the privilege to sign bills to a certain limit, without any approval of the permanent accountant hinting towards massive financial scams.
