
Earthquake of 5.4 magnitude jolts Barak Valley, Northeast
An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 on the Richter Scale has jolted Barak Valley and the whole of the Northeastern region.
According to the National Centre of Seismology, the epicenter was at 15 km West of Moirang, Manipur, India and depth of 27.5 km
Tremors were also felt across the Barak Valley, Guwahati and other parts of Northeast India.
The website also reported an aftershock of this earthquake which was of magnitude 2.9 and occurred at 36km West South West of Moirang, Manipur, India, Depth- 19.7km.
The first earthquake happened at 8:12 PM whereas second one was recorded at 8:25 pm.
No reports of casualties have been reported so far.
