
Employee of Green Heals Hospital, health worker test positive; came in contact with Dr. Orina Raha
Breaking news coming in Silchar Medical College and Hospital. In the second list of COVID positive patients released by the hospital, an employee of Green Heals Hospital and a health worker found infected by the virus.
44-year-old Gulshan Bibi and 27-year-old Sangita Das are among those who were tested because they came in contact with Dr Orina Raha. Both of them tested positive.
It is worth mentioning here that doctor Raha tested COVID positive on July 1 following which her family members, driver, house help also tested positive.
Gulsun Bibi works as a sweeper at the operation theater of Green Heals Hospital located in Meherpur Silchar. Official spokesperson of the hospital informed that they suspect around 40 individuals in the hospital had come in direct contact with Dr. Orina Raha. The spokesperson confirmed that Raha operated a patient at the operation theater of the hospital and Gulsun Bibi was also present there at that time. “We have submitted the list of people who had come in contact with Dr. Raha and all of them will be tested.”
Apart from Bibi, Sangita Das who works as a health worker was also tested because she had come in contact with doctor Raha. Silchar Medical College and Hospital administration informed that Das is a symptomatic COVID positive patient.
“Both of them will be admitted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital immediately,” informed Suman Choudhury, media expert, Cachar Health Department.
Apart from two who came in contact with doctor Raha, three others also tested positive in the second slot. All of them are residents of Berenga area in Cachar district and have traveled from Mangalore and Bangalore. Parvez Alom Mazumder (17) from Mangalore, Sahidul Islam Barbhuiya (21) and Abul Hussain Mazumder (22) from Bangalore.
