Father and daughter's mysterious death in Cachar; Cardiac arrests or Murder? "Investigation is on," SDPO Lakhipur

In a tragic turn of affairs, a father-daughter duo has succumbed to death one after another. The incident occurred yesterday in Makhanpur, under Jirighaat Police station in Cachar district.

Moin Uddin (65) went for a morning walk, as it was his usual routine, but, did not return. After her father went missing, Saleha Begum (38) rushed to look for him, and after seeing her father’s situation, allegedly she also died on the sport. This incident has stunned the localities of Makhanpur and Jirighaat.

Both the dead bodies were recovered by the officials from the Jirighat Police Outpost. The bodies were found in front of a residence and the resident said that both of them suffered cardiac arrest one after another. The father died first and later when the daughter saw her father lying dead, she too collapsed on the spot.

However, Moin Uddin and Saleha Begum’s family members expressed their apprehension about the sudden death on the road, they told that Moin Uddin was called by another resident of Makhanpur Ali Hussain, at midnight around 2.00 am, and he died in front of Ali’s house. Even Saleha also died at the spot. So they are demanding a further investigation to know the cause of their sudden death.

Barak Bulletin reached out to Lakhipur SDPO, Kulapradeep Bhattacharyaa and he said that a case has been registered and the Police is investigating the nature of death. “We are waiting for the Medical Report to fetch more details. The process of investigation has started.”

When asked if it was a planned murder as the family is alleging, he said, “In the initial investigation, we could not find anything to suggest it was a murder. However, the post mortem has been done and the medical report will shed more details about the case.”
