"Forest officials, veterinary doctors treated monkeys' dead bodies inhumanly," MLA Amar Chand Jain
Katogorah MLA, Amar Chand Jain has launched an attack on the forest officials and veterinary doctors who recovered the dead bodies of monkeys from the water resource tank in the Katirail area.
As we are aware, 13 monkeys were found dead in an unused reservoir near Kalain. The preliminary post mortem report stated that the monkeys died due to the consumption of “unnatural substances.”
Katigorah MLA, however, is not a fan of the way the rangers and veterinary doctors treated the corpses. “Forest officials, veterinary doctors treated the monkeys’ dead bodies inhumanly,” said the MLA. He added, “Though I was not there in Katigorah, I got to know that the veterinary doctor used a dao to dissect the body in front of the public. No medical professional conducts postmortem in this manner,” added Jain.
He said the reporters present on the spot stopped the doctor and then the bodies were taken to veterinary hospital where the actual postmortem was conducted the next morning. “For me, the death of monkeys is like the death of human beings. I condemn the doctor’s behaviour and assure that nobody will be spared,” added MLA Jain.
While talking to Barak Bulletin, forest minister of Assam, Parimal Suklabaidya said that he suspects this as a case of poisoning. The investigation is going on and so far the Police has not made any arrests.
