
Former CM Tarun Gogoi's health condition further deteriorates, under mechanical ventilation
Since the last few days Tarun Gogoi’s health was detoriating according to the medical bulletin. Today he was evaluated by experts and his health is in a very critical condition from what it was yesterday according to GMCH Superintendent Abhijeet Sharma. A dialysis was planned for him, however it won’t be done today.
The 86-year-old veteran Assam Congress leader and three times Chief Minister of the state Gogoi got tested positive for covid-19 on 25th August and eventually recovered from it. However, due to post covid complications, an emerging phenomenon seen with many recovered patients, Gogoi had a multi organ failure with an increased difficulty in breathing losing his consciousness.
He was admitted in GMCH on 2nd November and put under non invasive ventilation intially and under invasive ventilation as his health further deteriorated. Efforts are being made by doctors to revive his organs through medications. A team of health experts from AIIMS Delhi are also monitoring his wealth however the next few days remain very crucial.
As of now there’s no move to shift him to any other state for improved treatment as it not feasible considering his current health condition.
