Governing Body meeting of Silchar DSA to be held on April 9

First covid, then court case against the Assam Olympic Association due to dispute, and finally the horrific floods, mainly due to these three reasons, BGM of Silchar District Sports Organisation could not be held. As a result, the two-year term of the committee led by Bijendra Prasad Singh got extended to three and a half years. But now no more delay. Governing Body Meeting has been called by Silchar DSA on April 9 to finalise the date of BGM.

Recently, the Assam Olympic Association (AOA) issued a letter to all member organisations for boycotting Silchar DSA. However Silchar DSA doesn’t want to get involved in a new dispute with AOA. DSA’s Secretary Bijendra Prasad Singh cleared that the organisation is not seeking any new feud with AOA. He said, “We do not want any trouble anymore. We could not call BGM due to various reasons. But now we don’t want to delay further. We never wanted our two-year term to get prolonged to three and a half years. On October 30, 2021, if SGM took place then we could have held BGM in the last week of December. But SGM was not held. No meeting took place after the dispute with AOA was taken to the court.”

Singh also said, “One of our GB members filed a case against AOA in the court. As a result, the ultimate verdict will be given by the court. But we don’t want to delay BGM further. GB meeting has been called on Sunday. If everything is fine then a final outline will be created in that meeting.”

Singh also cleared that BGM will be called as per the constitution of the organisation. He said, “Some people inside and outside the organisation are trying to catch fish in muddy water. For them, I want to say that fishing in muddy water won’t be possible in Silchar DSA. No person here is not special, the organisation is supreme. Whatever happens here, it will be according to the constitution.”
