Higher Secondary Results: DC Keerthi Jalli felicitates rank holders from Cachar

Yesterday, the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) declared the results of Class XII examination conducted earlier this year. Three students from Cachar made it to the merit list of the top ten students in the State. All of them happened to be students of Commerce Stream.

Today the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, Keerthi Jalli invited the rank holders at her office in Silchar. Binita Saha of Ramanuj Gupta Junior College who secured the third position, her classmate in the same college Aditya Dutta booked the ninth berth and ranked eighth Vivekananda Junior College’s Sumita Roy was ceremoniously felicitated by the deputy commissioner in presence of other senior officials and press.

Deputy Commissioner of Cachar Keerthi Jalli also expressed her heartfelt wishes to Krishna Roy who scored 72.8% from Government Girls HS School overcoming manifold hurdles and odd circumstances at her home.

After the felicitation, the deputy commissioner said by securing positions in the merit list, three of them have made Cachar and entire Barak Valley proud. She added the residents of the valley will not only feel proud at their achievement but the aspirants will seek a lot of aspiration from the trio’s success. “The administration is delighted,” said DC Keerthi Jalli. Adding, “I congratulate the Education Department for conducting a seamless and incident-free examination. We have all gone through examination pressure and it is a great feeling to see the students coming out in flying colours.”

While congratulating the rank holders, Keerthi Jalli also expressed her wishes to those who could not perform as per expectations. “Ups and downs are part of life and one must not lose hope and continue to keep fighting,” she asserted. At the same time, she urged the Education Department to strive harder and improve the pass percentage of the district in the coming years.

Two out of the three rank holders are girls and the DC emphasised that girls across streams are performing excellently. She said that Binita and Sumita’s success will certainly inspire girls in the district and valley.

“Cachar district administration wishes the best for the future of all three who made us proud today,” she concluded her speech.

The felicitation programme began with a speech from additional deputy commissioner (education) Rajib Roy. School Inspector Samina Yasmin Aaara Rahman also expressed her views and congratulated the students for their performance in Higher Secondary examinations.
