Lakhipur Tragedy: Young Student Loses Life in Road Accident
A young student, Abdur Rahim Laskar, who was preparing for his upcoming secondary examination, tragically lost his life in a road accident today. A resident of Ujan Tarapur under the Lakhipur police station area, Abdur Rahim was a student of Class 10 at Ujan Tarapur High School. Alongside his school education, he was also pursuing studies at a madrasa. His admit card for the February exams had already arrived.
The incident occurred around 3 PM near Alipur Hospital on National Highway 37. While riding a motorbike, Abdur Rahim collided with an auto-rickshaw, leaving him critically injured. Witnesses rushed the severely injured student to Alipur Bureau’s Memorial Christian Hospital. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after reaching the hospital.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that the auto-rickshaw involved in the collision managed to flee the scene. Upon receiving news of the accident, police from Bashkandi outpost arrived at the hospital and sent the deceased’s body to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.
This heartbreaking incident has left the local community in shock, especially as Abdur Rahim’s promising future has been cut short. Police investigations are ongoing to trace the runaway vehicle and determine the cause of the accident.
