Laya Madduri, IAS takes charge as the new DC of Cachar district today

Laya Madduri, IAS batch 2010 has taken charge as the new Deputy Commissioner of Cachar on Friday. She took over charges from the outgoing DC Dr S Laxmanan, IAS who will be joining as DC Sivasagar.
Along with the officials, many people from the district and media persons witnessed the formal exchange of greetings between the two administrators.
An IAS of 2010 batch of Assam Meghalaya cadre, Madduri has worked in Sonitpur, Majuli, Jorhat and Dibrugarh before joining here.
” I am aware of the issues in Barak Valley and I am looking forward to work as DC Cachar. I hope, I will get cooperation from the citizens of the district in addressing the prevalent here and together we can solve the problems as well,” Madduri stated.

In her words, Assam and entire North East is a congenial place to work, particularly for women bureaucrats and she thanks her colleagues and officials for extending cordial support so far.
Meanwhile, Dr Laxmanan who will be leaving Cachar on Saturday expressed his heartfelt thanks to the people of Cachar for unabted support during his tenure and said that he would cherish the moments spent here.
