Maintenance In Hill Section: NF Rail Cancels Silchar-Guwahati Express Among Other Trains

Yet another inconvenience has arrived due to the derailment and maintenance of the railway track in the hill section of Assam. Several trains running to and from Silchar have been cancelled for undertaking track safety-related works between Jatinga Lampur and New Haflong stations. The track derailed on April 25 was repaired by April 26 and was declared fit to run by the Lumding division of N. F. Railway. In another press release by the NF Railway, the temporary restriction on train movement between Jatinga Lampur and New Haflong station was informed.

Stating the cancelled, regulated and rescheduled trains in the section, the press statement issued by Sabyasachi De, the Chief Public Relations Officer of NF Railway read, “In view of temporary restriction on train movement from 18:00 hours to 06:00 hours between Jatinga Lampur and New Haflong stations under the Lumding division of N. F. Railway, for undertaking track safety-related works”.

The Guwahati-Silchar Express and the Silchar-Guwahati Express scheduled to run on April 29 were cancelled. The 15611 Rangiya – Silchar Express and the 15617 Guwahati – Dullabcherra Express scheduled to leave tomorrow are also cancelled. Two trains, 05637 Naharlagun – Silchar Special and 15618 Dullabcherra – Guwahati Express scheduled to leave on April 30, Tuesday were also cancelled. Another train, the 15612 Silchar – Rangiya Express, scheduled to leave on May 1 was also cancelled due to the maintenance work.

The 14037 Silchar – New Delhi Purvottar Sampark Kranti Express of April 29 has been rescheduled at 23:50 hours (11:50 PM on Monday), as per the statement issued.

regulated for 10 hours
2. 12513 Secunderabad – Silchar Express commencing journey on 27.04.2024 will be regulated
for 10 hours
3. 02501 Kolkata – Agartala Special commencing journey on 28.04.2024 will be regulated for 9
hours
4. 13173 Sealdah – Agartala Express commencing journey on 28.04.2024 will be regulated for 4
hours
