Manipal Hospital's Telemedicine Centre now open in Silchar; Rajdeep Roy, Sanjay Rampure in opening ceremony 

Some relief for the patients and their relatives in Barak Valley. In National Highway Road Silchar, Manipal Hospital’s Telemedicine and information centre is now open. Yesterday, senior orthopedic surgeon Dr. Rajdeep Roy, nephrologist from Manipal Hospital Bangalore Dr. Sanjay Rampure, Rahul Sharma, in charge of Manipal Hospital’s Northeast chapter and proprietor of the Telemedicine center in Silchar  Kaushik Das Kanungo announced the opening by lighting a lamp. 

Kanungo was of the opinion that this would help people of Barak connect with the doctors in Manipal hospital Bangalore and in other parts of the country. “This is the first such centre in Barak Valley and it now brings a great relief for the patients suffering from nephrological disorders. Through this center they can get appointments in any of the Manipal Hospital,” says he.

Patients can use the Telemedicine centre for follow ups as well. “Apart from helping patients through the telemedicine centre we will also have OPDs. Today Dr. Sanjay Rampure is treating patients suffering from nephrological disorders and a lot of patients are certain to benefit from that,” adds Kanungo.

The information and telemedicine centre is located right opposite Gaurio Math in National Highway Road Silchar.
