Megh Nidhi Dahal, Anbamuthan M P transferred as Hailakandi, Karimganj get new DC; Keerthi Jalli stays in Cachar

After rejig in the Police service, the government of Assam has announced a reshuffle at the top of the district’s administrations. Deputy Commissioner of Karimganj district, Anbamuthan M P has been transferred as the deputy commissioner of Dhubri. He will be replaced by Khargeswar Pegu, ACS who is currently serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Lakhimpur.

The order stated that “In the interest of public service, Rohan Kumar Jha, IAS (RR-2015), Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sonitpur is transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Hailakandi.”

Megh Nidhi Dahal replaced Keerthi Jalli as the deputy commissioner of Hailakandi in May 2020. A year later, the state government has decided to transfer Dahal as the deputy commissioner of Kokrajhar.

Currently, an additional deputy commissioner in Cachar Sumit Sattavan, who has been in charge of Health since the outbreak of the pandemic got rewarded by the Government. He has been transferred to Lakhimpur as the deputy commissioner. Sattavan is also the executive officer of the Silchar Municipality Board and the Settlement Officer.

The order issued today also states, “In the interest of public service, Hivare Nisarg Gautam, IAS Additional Deputy Commissioner, Karimganj is transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, South Salmara, Mankachar.”

This also means Keerthi Jalli will stay as the deputy commissioner of Cachar as she has not been transferred to any other district. She had taken charge from Barnali Sharma in 2020.
