Missing girl's mutilated body: Locals block road in Rangirkhari alleging acid attack and rape
In a horrifying and heart-wrenching incident, a 19 year old girl, who had gone missing on July 15 under mysterious circumstances, was found dead in a building under construction at Dwarbond. The discovery was made by locals who immediately informed the Police. The victim, who used to work at a shop in Premtala and resided near Rangirkhari Petrol Pump, had not been traced since she left her workplace at around 9:30 pm on the fateful day. Concerned for her safety, her parents lodged an FIR at Rangirkhari Police Station when they couldn’t get in touch with her, and her mobile phone was found switched off.
The victim’s parents today got information about the discovery of a dead body by Dwarbond Police. Accordingly they went to the spot and made the harrowing identification that the mutilated corpse was indeed that of their beloved daughter. The scene was undoubtedly distressing, and the mutilation suggests that she may have been subjected to sexual assault and a horrifying acid attack, indicating a painful and brutal death.
The locals gathered in Rangirkhari and blocked Hailakandi Road as a mark of protest. According to them the police did not take necessary action despite numerous complaints.
Cachar Superintendent of Police, Numal Mahatta, expressed his grief and shock over the unfortunate incident, promising a rigorous investigation to bring the perpetrator to justice. The police are determined to uncover the truth behind the heinous crime that has shaken the community to its core.
