Paragon Teachers’ Day Death: MLA Aminul Haque Laskar Demands Impartial Probe
Sonai MLA Aminul Haque Laskar has called for a fair and impartial investigation into the death of Class X student Gulshan Ahmed Laskar, whose body was recovered from the hostel of Paragon Senior Secondary School in Badarpur.
Gulshan, a resident of Swadhin Bazar in Sonai, was found dead inside the school hostel following the Teachers’ Day programme. His death has raised questions from his family over the circumstances surrounding the incident and the handling of the body.
Speaking outside the autopsy block of Silchar Medical College and Hospital, MLA Aminul Haque Laskar questioned how Gulshan died and whether the death was the result of an act of self-harm or whether another person was responsible.
The MLA said the exact circumstances could only be established after the postmortem and a proper investigation. He stressed that every possibility should be examined before any conclusion is reached.
“If he had indeed killed himself, the signs should have been noticed earlier,” the MLA said, adding that such an act does not necessarily happen without any preceding indications. His remarks were made while calling for the circumstances leading to the student’s death to be thoroughly examined.
Aminul Haque Laskar also raised questions about the procedures followed after Gulshan’s body was recovered and called for an impartial inquiry into the incident.
The MLA said he had spoken with the district administration of Sribhumi and urged that appropriate steps be taken to ensure that an incident of this nature does not happen again.
The family has also demanded a detailed investigation into Gulshan’s death and has questioned the circumstances under which the body was taken to the hospital.
The exact cause and circumstances of Gulshan’s death have not yet been officially established. The postmortem report and further investigation are expected to provide more clarity.
Authorities will now have to establish what happened inside the hostel and whether any procedural lapses occurred after the student was found dead.
