Parimal Suklabaidya and Kaidi Free Soul rides for road safety, urges people to adhere to traffic rules
The BJP’s Silchar Lok Sabha seat candidate Parimal Suklabaidya took part in an awareness bike rally in the town along with Kaidi Free Soul Bike Riders today. Suklabaidya who is also the Minister of Transport, Assam has been actively promoting road safety through various awareness programs. On Tuesday, he participated as the guest rider along with the group and held a rally throughout the town which ended at DSA Ground. The rally aimed at promoting road safety awareness, saw enthusiastic participation from the rider’s group.
The rally was flagged off by Parimal Shuklabaidya who also took part in the rally on request of the group. Addressing the media, he highlighted the importance of initiatives like this in spreading awareness about road safety measures. He also recounted his initiative and said, “Last November as a government initiative, I started a rally and rode through all the 126 LA constituencies of Assam to spread the message of road safety. After the rally, I urged other groups, NGOs and citizens to carry the message forward. Kaidi Free Soul is one of the groups actively spreading the message far and wide”.
Responding to Shuklabaidya’s call, the “Kaidi Free Soul Bike Riders” orchestrated the bike rally in Silchar. The event, which culminated at the District Sports Association ground, aimed to educate people on crucial aspects of road safety. Participants in the rally actively promoted the importance of wearing helmets while riding, wearing seat belts while driving, following traffic rules, adhering to speed limits, and refraining from driving under the influence of alcohol.
It needs to be mentioned that, even though Assam Police has repeatedly spread the message of using helmets by pillion riders, even single helmets in Silchar are rarely seen. These awareness rides and messages go to waste if the citizens don’t take caution for their safety. Traffic rules in Silchar are in shambles and the civic sense of the people needs to be questioned.
