
Petrol Diesel price drops in Assam by Rs 5 per litre; Alcohol to get cheaper

In Assam, the price of petrol and diesel has skyrocketed like never before. The general public has been fuming for quite some time. Today, the finance minister has made an announcement that will come as a major relief to the daily commuters.
The finance minister said, “Speaker sir, at the peak of COVID-19, we had levied additional cess on petrol, diesel and liquor.” He placed it on the record that the number of COVID positive patients have declined significantly in the state.
He said, “Now, the number of patients has reduced… I am grateful to my cabinet colleagues who agreed to my proposal this morning to rescind this additional cess. Hence, petrol and diesel will become cheaper by Rs 5 per litre with effect from midnight tonight, benefiting lakhs of consumers across Assam.”
He also announced that the alcohol will get cheaper in the state.
