
Promising summer schedule; Silchar Mumbai, Silchar Shillong and Silchar Bangalore routes open
Indigo Airline to commence schedule aircraft operation from March 29 to the Meghalaya’s capital Shillong airport under RCS UDAN scheme, an Airport Authority statement said.
According to the summer scheduled released by the Airport Authority of India, Indigo airlines has introduced ATR 600 aircraft in Shillong Silchar route which will be operating thrice a week, viz – Monday, Wednesday and Friday with an attractive fair of 1305 rupees only.
The flight will depart from Shillong on 10:20 and will arrive at Silchar 11 am. After a brief halt of 20 mins, the flight will depart again to reach Shillong by 12:05 pm.
Silchar – Bangalore
Apart from the above, Indigo has also reintroduced the Silchar Bangalore flight fourth a week. The flight will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The flight was for some unknown reason was stopped w.e.f 28th March by the airlines, despite of getting huge response.
Silchar- Guwahati- Mumbai
India’s film capital is no more miles away from Silchar, as the low cost carrier Indigo bids to connect the two locations with its vast diverse network of flights. Indigo’s 6E 5397 flight operating between Silchar Guwahati and Kolkata has also been extended to Mumbai. The flight will be operating in the route of Mumbai-Guwahati-Silchar-Kolkata-Silchar – Guwahati- Mumbai.
“IndiGo 6E 5397 will depart from Mumbai at 07:15 and will reach Silchar via Guwahati at 11:40 hrs. Similarly, 6E 433 will depart at 13:55 and will reach Mumbai at 18:45 hrs” an airport official said.
The new summer schedule also brings a surprise for the flyers, as national carrier Air India has increased its flight frequency at Silchar Kolkata route from thrice a week to daily.
Altogether, the air connectivity to and from Barak Valley’s lone Silchar airport gets a major boost this summer, with 8 scheduled flights weekly.
