Renowned gynecologist Dr. Arun Paul Choudhury is no more; He succumbed to Cancer in Tata Hospital, Kolkata

Renowned gynecologist of Barak Valley, Dr. Arun Paul Choudhury has breathed his last. He was declared dead by the doctors in Tata Cancer Hospital, Kolkata at around 1.42 am last night (today morning). In the month of August 2022, he was diagnosed with lung cancer and since then he has been under treatment.

Dr. Arun Paul Choudhury was transferred to Dhubri Medical College and Hospital where he was serving as Professor, Department of Gynecology. However, he continued to treat patients in Barak Valley. In the month of December, when his health condition worsened, he was airlifted to Kolkata.

“Great loss to Barak Valley. A doctor with excellent personality. Kindhearted and helpful. Shocked to know about his demise. SMCH will never forget this gentleman. May his soul rest in peace,” shared Principal of Silchar Medical College and Hospital, Dr. Babul Bezbaruah.

Vice Principal of the SMCH, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, also expressed his condolences. Dr. Gupta informed that Dr. Arun Paul Choudhury has left behind two sons and his wife along with thousands of patients and hundreds of friends in the healthcare fraternity.
