Rs. 84,800 Looted from Disabled Airtel Payments Bank CMS Partner in Dholai

A physically disabled Cash Management Service (CMS) partner of Airtel Payments Bank was allegedly attacked and robbed of Rs. 84,800 by two miscreants in South Dholai Bishnupur on Friday afternoon.

The victim, Abdul Amin, was on his way to deposit the collected money when two individuals intercepted him near his house around 4:30 PM. Initially, they engaged him in a conversation about a land dispute, but when he denied involvement, they allegedly started abusing and assaulting him. Amin lost consciousness and, upon regaining his senses, saw the miscreants fleeing on a motorcycle with his cash, which was wrapped in black polythene.

“I collect money every day as a CMS Partner for Airtel Payments Bank. But as my neighbour had died, I couldn’t deposit the collected money today on time. Instead, I went out after the Janaza at around 4:30 PM to deposit it at the local CSP. While I was on the way, two people stopped me and accused me of dumping soil on a plot near my home. When I told them it wasn’t me, they started abusing and assaulting me. I collapsed and blacked out. By the time I regained consciousness, they were gone with my money,” Amin said.

“They kept saying that I had beaten them last year. But given my disability, I can barely walk—how could I hit them?” he added.

Local residents rescued him and took him to Dholai Primary Health Centre for treatment. He later lodged a complaint at Dholai police station. Police have launched an investigation, and the incident has raised concerns about safety among traders and residents in the area.
