Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty to watch “The Kerala Story” with 200 Karyakartas, calls it a “must watch”

Controversial yet a box office blockbuster, ‘The Kerala Story’ is already making headlines. The Vipul Shah production, ‘The Kerala Story’ directed by Sudipto Sen has fetched more than Rs 95 crores at the BO. The Adah Sharma starrer focuses on stories of terrorist organisation like ISIS luring non Muslim women into religious conversion and eventually recruiting them to perpetrate anti social activities.

The movie promotes itself as “based on true” events which many have contested. Politically, the movie has made a significant impact as many BJP leaders including the Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has publicly nudged in favour of watching the film. PM Narendra Modi also gave the film importance by talking highly of it.

On the other hand, opposition has called it BJP’s Kerala Story and not essentially the actual Kerala story. However, that’s best left for the viewers to decide is something that Shabana Azmi and many other iconic film stars of the country have opined.

Joining the bandwagon is Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty. “Based on real events, “The Kerala Story” is a must-watch for everybody, as it has highlighted a burning issue in our country,” he posted on his Facebook.

He added, “I’ll be accompanying about 200 ABVP karyakartas from Silchar to watch this much-anticipated film tomorrow.” The MLA will watch the movie at the Gold’s Cinema in Silchar.
