Silchar youth Subhrajit Paul takes a motorcycle trip to Ladakh to pay tribute to the martyred jawans in the Assam-Mizoram clash

To pay homage to the police personnel who were martyred at the Assam-Mizoram border violence at Assam’s Lailapur on July 26, Silchar’s Subhrajit Paul has taken an innovative step. Many people have paid their respects to the soldiers who were martyred in the murderous clash of that day, including various party organizations from across the state as well as Barak valley. But the initiative taken by Subhrajit is unique in its own way.

Subhrajit is a motorcycle biker and loves to travel around the countryside with his bike. And now he has chosen this medium to pay homage to the martyred soldiers of Assam. He will pay his respect to the martyred jawans at Ladakh’s Khardungla Pass at an altitude of 18,000 feet from sea level. For the 8,000 km long tour, which he will travel on his own throughout the journey, Subhrajit left Ambikapur Point of Silchar at 8 am on Friday. Nobody else will be accompanying him on this journey.

Regarding this unique way to pay homage, Subhrajit said, “Look, everyone has paid homage to the martyred police personnel in their own way. So I decided that what I needed to do was to pay homage in my own way. ‌Since I am a bike rider, I love to travel with bikes, so I chose this medium as a tribute.”

Subhrajit said that he would visit the Khardungla Pass and light a candle in front of the photo of the martyred jawans. For this long tour, Subhrajit is going with all kinds of preparations. He also said that he would stay in Guwahati for two days after leaving Silchar. As there are still some essential items to buy for the long trip, hence he has to stay in Guwahati for two days before leaving the city. The young blogger from Silchar said that he would not ride the bike at night. It will take him 6 days to traverse 4,000 kilometres to reach Ladakh. After Guwahati, Subhrajit will spend a night in Siliguri. During both the back and forth journey, he will stay at hotels. However, if he does not find any hotel in a certain place, then he’ll spend the night in a tent. That’s why he is taking all the emergency equipment with himself.

Even before this, Subhrajit has done various tours by riding his bike. He has a channel on YouTube as well and has already made an impression as a photographer. Even before this, Subhrajit has done various adventure trips by riding bikes. However, this is the first instance of such a long tour in his lifetime. And it is truly memorable to pay homage to the martyrs in such a grand manner.
