
Sribhumi: Three Youths Killed In Road Accident In Mizoram
Three young men from Sribhumi district have lost their lives in a road accident on Silchar Road, near the Venghlai East and Diakkawn border area in Kolasib district of Mizoram. The accident took place late on Wednesday night and left two others seriously injured.
According to reports, a Wagon R heading towards Aizawl rammed into a lorry that was parked on the side of the road. The force of the impact sent the lorry overturning nearly 50 metres away, while the Wagon R was crushed underneath it.
Rescuers managed to pull two survivors from the vehicle, but three young men died at the spot. Their bodies were recovered in the early hours of the morning.
The deceased have been identified as Saddam Hussain, 27, son of Suleman Ali of Hogargoal village, Patharkandi, Sribhumi; Masuk Ahmed, 25, son of Riyaz Uddin of Gulchara Kajitilla; and Khaled Ahmed, 19, son of Moiz Uddin, also from the same area.
Police and a rescue team reached the spot quickly after receiving information and carried out a prolonged rescue operation. The injured have been admitted to hospital and the cause of the accident is being investigated.
