Three Arrested With 24,000 Yaba Tablets in Silchar Drug Bust

Cachar Police have arrested three alleged drug traffickers and seized 24,000 yaba tablets during a search operation at Rangpur in Silchar, continuing their crackdown on illegal narcotics.

According to police, the operation was carried out on the Silchar to Imphal National Highway after officers received specific intelligence about the movement of narcotics. A four-wheeler travelling from neighbouring Manipur towards Silchar was intercepted and searched.

During the search, police allegedly recovered 24,000 yaba tablets from a concealed compartment inside the vehicle. The tablets were seized, and three occupants of the vehicle were arrested on charges related to drug trafficking.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Saju Sadiyal and Ali Haider Hazari, both residents of Madhurbandar in Silchar, and Azmal Hussain Laskar, a resident of Rajnagar in Barkhola.

Police said the accused are currently being questioned at Silchar Sadar Police Station as part of the ongoing investigation. Further details are awaited.
