Three persons attacked by mad buffalo, admitted at Valley Hospital, Silchar
Three persons sustained injuries after they were attacked by a mad buffalo at Kadamtala in North Tripura district late on Wednesday night.
According to sources, the buffalo entered the house of Abdul Haque at ward number-IV, South Kadamtala village on Wednesday night and went on a rampage. Sensing a commotion, Abdul came out from home following which he was attacked by the animal. Hearing Abdul’s screams his son Joynal Uddin and daughter Nazma Bibi came out and tried to save Abdul.
The buffalo, which was in a mood to wreak widespread destruction, attacked all of them owing to which they were gravely injured. Hearing their screams, neighbours rushed to the spot with wooden sticks and bamboos after which the buffalo ran away.
The injured persons were then rushed to a hospital at Dharmanagar. However, considering their condition they were later taken to Valley Hospital in Silchar. All of them were in critical condition, as per last available reports.
On Thursday morning, the buffalo wreaked devastation in Tarakpur, Piarcherra and few other areas. Receiving the information, a team of police went to Piarcherra this morning to trap the buffalo when it was on the rampage. The animal, while trying to prevent itself from being caught, fell into a deep gorge and died. The body was buried in a local site.
Locals said the buffalo had been wreaking terror in different areas of Kadamtala for the past few months. The animal had destroyed croplands and a number of houses in the past.
