Two critically injured in a road mishap in Tarapur

In a tragic road mishap in Silchar, two individuals got brutally injured and are admitted in Silchar Medical College and Hospital. At about 3:30 PM a Renault Duster registered under Guwahati Regional Transport Office (RTO) AS 01 DH 5759 was travelling towards Ramnagar through Tarapur Overbridge.

As per eyewitnesses, the speeding Renault Duster first rushed to a Tuktuk following which it lost its control and went on to hit a newly bought motorcycle. Both Tuktuk driver and Motorcycle rider are in critical condition. The accident took place right at the end of the bridge (towards Ramnagar).

The man driving Renault Duster himself went to the hospital along with the two wounded. His son who was at Assami Basti at that time also rushed to the spot. Speaking to our correspondent, he said that his father is an ex-serviceman and they reside in Bhubaneshwar Nagar in Lakhipur.

Another local, who identified himself as a friend of the bike rider said that his friend 18-year-old Biplab Roy’s condition was critical, “When I saw him, he was lying down on the road. He was unable to lift himself up and one of his legs was literally hanging from his knee.”

The brutal accident in one of the busiest roads of Silchar halted the traffic resulted in a long queue of vehicles on either side of the bridge.
