Unidentified youth allegedly throws acid on the face of a poor carpenter at Boroitoli

An unidentified youth ran away after allegedly throwing acid on the face of a poor carpenter named Shankar Das. Even though the incident took place on May 4, a case was filed at the Kalain Police Station today regarding the incident.

After filing FIR at the Police Station the victim Shankar Das who is a resident of Brahmangram said that on May 4 at around 8 am an unidentified youth came with a Pulsar bike to his shop and asked him to make some wooden items for his house. He took Shankar on his bike and they travelled to Boroitoli area via Lakhipur road. There he stopped the bike for peeing and then threw a bottle full of acid on Shankar’s face. On hearing the news, the people of his house rescued Shankar and sent him to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. On receiving the FIR, Kalain OC Pragyan Gogoi visited the incident area.
