Sonai resident, Dhurbojyoti Nath’s 5-month-old son has been kidnapped and police is investigating the matter. So far, one individual has been arrested in connection to the kidnapping of the kid.

Meanwhile, Sonai MLA and Deputy Speaker of Assam, Aminul Haque Laskar who is set to be discharged today from Silchar Medical College and Hospital after recovering from a coronavirus infection has said that he will go straight to Dhrubojyoti Nath’s house from the hospital after discharge.

It is worth mentioning here that as per the protocols, every Coronavirus survivor needs be in isolation for at least seven days after discharge. “Will break protocols and sit in the middle of the road if the kid is not rescued immediately. If we cannot ensure security to the 5-month-old, there is nothing more shameful for us. From SMCH, I will go straight to the Kajidahor and meet the family,” warned the Deputy Speaker of Assam.

He added, “I have been told that the Police has arrested one individual and the kid’s ring has been recovered from the arrested miscreant. While some progress has been made, that is not enough. We need the kid to be rescued immediately.”

As per available information, the kid was kidnapped when he was sleeping with his parents at night on August 4/5, 2020. In the middle of the night, Dhrubojyoti Nath and his wife noticed that the kid is not there on the bed and the window is broken. They immediately informed the police and the investigation began.

Cachar Police said discretion is very important and that is why they won’t comment at this moment.

Sources close to the Cachar Police informed that top officials are looking into the case and they were very close to a breakthrough yesterday. A kidnapping case of this sort is extremely sensitive and at risk is the life of a kid. The source added that the Police is dealing with the situation and any noise created around it will only add to the risk.
