Youth dead in head on collision between cruiser and bike at North Lalpani area

In a sad turn of affairs, a bike rider lost his life in a head-on collision between a passenger cruiser and a bike on National Highway No. 37 at North Lalpani under Jirighat Police Station area. The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon at approximately 4 o’clock. The name of the deceased youth is Saruk Ahmed Choudhury aged around 20 years. His father’s name is Nurul Islam Choudhury and they are residents of Lalpani Khayrabad village.

On Tuesday afternoon, Saruk was out with his bike having registration number HR 76 C 9745. The bike collided head-on with a passenger cruiser at North Lalpani area on National Highway No. 37. Bike rider Saruk immediately fell on the road due to the collision and died on the spot. The driver of the cruiser fled the spot after the accident. The police personnel of Jirighat Police Station rushed to the spot after receiving the news of the accident. They recovered the body of Saruk and sent it to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. They also took the cruiser and the bike of the deceased to the police station. The death of Saruk has cast a shadow of gloominess in Lalpani area.
