After receiving this information, we tried to ensure it’s authenticity through our own sources. We confirmed the information and tried collecting documents like pictures of the girl. Then we contacted the administration in this regard and sought their help. We did a meeting with Cachar SP and Additional SP Crime Branch. Silchar Sadar OC alongwith a team of Cachar Police took the initiative to rescue the girl. We located the girl yesterday and rescued her by night with the help of Police. She was taken to Silchar Sadar Police Station. Later medical tests were performed on her and then we took her to our Shelter Home in safe custody. We spoke to her and she told us that she was lured by traffickers assuring her of a good life and bright future here in Silchar. We are trying to repatriate her back to her country. An NGO of North Bengal who informed the childline about the girl is trying to contact with the girl’s family and Nepal Police to send her back to Nepal.”
