Sribhumi Police achieved a major breakthrough in an anti-drug operation at Badarpur Station Road on Monday night (April 20), arresting two alleged drug peddlers with 131 grams of heroin worth around Rs. 50 lakh in the black market.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from Badarpur Police Station intercepted the accused and recovered the contraband allegedly concealed inside 11 soap cases to avoid detection. A narcotics test was carried out using the drug testing kit to confirm, following which the two were apprehended under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Abul Hussain Choudhury and Kajal Ahmed. Both are residents of areas under Sribhumi Police Station.

Sribhumi Police said the drug consignment was allegedly being taken to Guwahati by train when the operation was carried out.

Necessary legal action has been initiated, and further investigation is underway to identify others allegedly linked to the network.
