Road Mishap at Kabuganj on Assam-Mizoram highway: 1 Retd. Army veteran died on the spot

A retired Army veteran died in a road mishap near Kabuganj Market.

The accident took place around 3.30 pm in Pakaipar on 306 National Highway while a Bolero Pickup truck hit septuagenarian Anil Kumar Sinha, and the person died at the spot.

Local people had blocked the Silchar-Aizawl Highway after the accident. The Officer in charge of Dholai Police Station rushed to the site after the incident.

Magistrate Bikash Chettri also reached the spot to tackle the situation from deteriorating further. The road was blocked for almost two hours; local people withdrew the blockade after the rounds of conversation with OC and Magistrate. Police took the corpse to the Silchar medical college for postmortem. The accident and unnatural death of Anil Kumar Sinha shocked the locality, and they are mourning the end of this veteran.
