Silchar girl Debattama Saha back on TV, to spread joy with new show Mithai

Silchar’s Debattama Saha is now a big name in the Hindi Television world. Debattama has earlier made a big break with Star Plus’ “Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani” and is now all set for her lead role in Zee TV’s big show “Mithai”. Debattama will play the role of Mithai Modak in that show opposite Aashish Bhardwaj, the male protagonist who plays the role of Siddharth. This is a remake of the Bengali serial with the same name and the show will air from April 4, 2022.

This new show is based on the storyline that, Mithai is a gifted sweet maker and is on a quest to establish her professional identity. Mithai’s world collides with Siddharth, a software engineer and heir to traditional sweet making business. The story will take us further into their journey and what happens when two opposite personalities strike.

The show will air from Monday to Saturday from 7:00 PM on Zee TV and ZEE5 App. The rom-com drama is primarily set in Mathura and Mumbai. It is being produced and directed by Arvind Babbal under Arvind Babbal Productions house.

In her previous work, Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani, she played the role of Anokhi. It was one of the biggest hits of Star Plus which managed to keep the viewers glued to the TV screens with its gripping tale for 186 episodes. Other than Anokhi, Debattama has played various roles in different TV shows, both in Hindi as well as in Bengali. She started her career in 2016 with Colors Bangla’s E Amar Gurudakshina, in Hindi her first show was for Sony TV’s Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein, followed by Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani.

Debattama has expressed her excitement on Instagram while promoting the show. She recently also won the title of “Iconic Most Liked TV Actress Of The Year, Critic”. Debattama completed her schooling from Don Bosco School, Silchar and her graduation from Amity University, Kolkata before starting her acting career in 2016.
