Lightning kills district level football player, Hailakandi's Sahin Bahar Mazumdar

In a tragic turn of affairs, 19-year-old Sahin Bahar Mazumdar lost his life on Friday. Today afternoon Hailakandi district’s Lala area resident Sahin was headed towards football field when lightning struck him to death. As per available reports, Sahin was struck by lightning near a petrol pump located in Baurghat area.

Sahin was a district level football player and used to play the sport every day. A degree student of Lala Rural College, Sahin passed his XII last year securing good marks. “He was good in studies but amazing on the football field,” recalled a former teacher. Sahin was a former student of Krishnapur Global HS School.

The sudden death of the young boy has come as a shock for Sahin’s family and friends. The ntire Lala area is in a state of mourning, “He loved and admired the sport. It is unbelievable that the sport became the reason why he had to leave us and go,” said a friend.
